Rob Dyrdek’s skateboarding movie (yes, movie, not video) Street Dreams is now scheduled to hit select theatres on June 12th after a June 8th premiere in LA. I’m not gonna lie, this thing looks terrible. The preview makes it look really cheesy, and the acting looks pretty bad. The stars (Dyrdek, Sheckler, and P-Rod) are already pretty much already as main stream as they come, so I don’t know what impact it will have on the public’s view of skateboarding. I guess I can understand that they’re trying to show the public how (some) skaters get treated, but I think the YouTube clips of real incidents probably do a better job of gaining some sympathy if any.
