The Universal Record Database is where any average Joe (or Joe the Plumber) can create and set world records. Tony’s drinking buddy for the record breaking feat was Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg.com, who recently had a chat with Tony for a Digg Dialogue. I expect that their time of 11.03 seconds can easily be topped, but it’s still funny just to see a record like this.

Tony Hawk made a visit to the White House today to meet President Obama, and managed to get away with skating down the hall in the White House. Looks like some good run-up for whatever he’s about to try, and as far as I know this is a first for skateboarding… Check the photo and follow @TonyHawk for more updates.

Even though I don’t want to admit it, this is pretty cool. I can’t explain it, so check out this video on Quicksilver’s site. It’s got Tony Hawk, Alex Olsen, Danny Garcia, Reese Forbes, and Kyle Leeper.

In the world of video games, there’s the ultra-realistic “Madden” style games, and then there’s the unrealistic and arcade “NFL Blitz” style games. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater has always tended to be the less realistic type of game and more of the “hit X and jump 50 feet in the air” type game. It looks like that will stay the same, but the way you actually play the game is in for a big change.
